Aurora was designed to investigate the effects of meditation supported by 360° videos on students with little or no experience in meditation.
The artefact consists of 360-degrees Virtual Reality (VR) video that “transports” users to environments where they could practice two meditation exercises. The guided meditations presented are “Relaxation Response” and “Contemplative Inquiry.” The prototype was the result of the design process that involved the participation of meditation instructors, health experts, and students. The immersive media lasts for 10 minutes and should be featured on a Virtual Reality headset.
